ADVENT SILENT RETREAT
November 30 – December 2, 2012
7:45 pm Friday to 1:00 pm Sunday
“Why Wait?”
We live in a society where waiting, it seems, is
not encouraged. Don’t wait, the world seems to
say, satisfy your needs now, instant gratification.
The season of Advent is counter cultural. Advent is
not Christmas, we may want to race to Christmas, but Advent
is a season in itself. The spiritual discipline of waiting that we
do in Advent reminds us that we live in the world but we are
not to be of this world. We are to live differently, so in Advent
we practice waiting, as we remember that the world waited for
Jesus to come and is waiting for him to come again. In Advent,
we wait, we watch, we pray Come, Lord Jesus.
Facilitated by: The Rev. Catherine Harper, Anglican priest
Cost $165.00
